I paint in oil on canvas, mostly large. The work starts with the human body — its weight, its tension, its energy — but what I’m really after is the thing you can’t see. The gesture behind the gesture. I build layers, strip them back, and build again until something stays.
I don’t work in series yet. Every painting is its own problem. But the thread that connects them is the same: I want you to feel something physical when you stand in front of the canvas.
